Reprising their roles from the comedy special are Jeff Garlin (also an executive producer) as Larry's manager Jeff Greene, and Cheryl Hines as Larry's wife Cheryl. Each episode also features appearances by a number of celebrities playing themselves, including Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Richard Lewis, Kathy Griffin and others.
